Mike and myself worked together as Judges of the High Court of Zimbabwe from 1996 -2001. Mike was the finest and most able of Judges. He had an absolutely exemplary knowledge and understanding of the law and a deep and heartfelt sense of justice and fairness. The Zimbabwe Law Reports during his tenure as a Judge are filled with erudite and carefully considered decisions written by him. Many of those judgements are frequently quoted with absolute approval in the Zimbabwe Law Reports twenty years after his departure. Mike and myself then worked as Asylum and Immigration Judges in different courts in London from 2002 until our retirements - with Mike undoubtedly showing the same dedication and fairness in all he did. It is an absolute tragedy that Mike has died when he had so much to still live for.
